Guidance

If a vehicle is unable to move forward and the wheels are spinning, traction is needed for the tires to grip.

Identify whether the vehicle is front or rear wheel drive.

Place items at the front of the tire, so as it turns, it grips the items.

Items that can be used include:

– Sand / gravel

– Branches and leaves from trees

– Sticks or small wooden items. Check there are no sharp points that will puncture the tire

– Vehicle floor mats

– Newspaper

– Worst case, let some air out of your tires, so it gives the tire more surface area

Clear the area around the exhaust if needed i.e. build up of snow or mud.

Accelerate slowly. Don’t spin the wheels.
