Guidance
Being cut off from access to your funds, can push you to undertake risks you otherwise would not take.
Advise your bank of travel before you leave.
Most large banks now use AI to track your spending and detect unusual activity. Example, you live in the USA make small purchases, then small purchases in France, suddenly your credit card is being used to purchase a soccer outfit in Morocco. That would trigger a flag.
Before you travel, let your bank know the start and end dates of your travels and what countries you are planning to visit.
Typically this can be done within a banking mobile application. It takes a few minutes at most.
This prevents the bank fraud detection system suspending or terminating your ATM cards, leaving you without funds.
It is recommended to travel with ATM cards from at least two banks, so if one card has an issue, you have access to a back up.
