Guidance
When it comes to self-defense, it’s important to prioritize your personal safety and use techniques that are appropriate for the situation.
Take self defense class and train.
Know before you go. It is strongly recommended you undertake self defense classes and understand the context in which to undertake self defense.
If possible, seek professional training in self-defense from qualified instructors who can provide guidance on effective techniques and help you understand the legal and ethical aspects of self-defense in your jurisdiction.
Here are some key target points on the body that can be vulnerable and may help in self-defense situations.
Eyes
Gouging or poking the eyes can be extremely disorienting and temporarily incapacitate an attacker.
Nose
A strike to the nose can cause pain, tears, and disorientation, potentially creating an opportunity to escape.
Throat
A well-placed strike to the throat can disrupt breathing and temporarily disable an attacker.
Groin
A strike to the groin can cause intense pain and may disable your attacker, providing an opportunity to escape.
Solar plexus
A forceful strike to the solar plexus, located in the center of the chest, can knock the wind out of an attacker and create a momentary advantage.
Knee
A targeted strike to the knee joint can disable an attacker’s mobility, giving you a chance to escape.
Shins and instep
Kicks or strikes to the shins or instep can be painful and may temporarily incapacitate an attacker.
Temple
A well-aimed strike to the temple can cause disorientation and dizziness.
Remember that self-defense techniques should be used responsibly and proportionally to the threat you face.
It is also important to consider that certain techniques can have serious consequences or cause severe injury. You may need to justify your actions to authorities.
